Hack Your Subconscious to Transform Your Life!

mechanical brain with key showcasing hack your subconscious mind

After years of studying and researching self-improvement, personal growth, spirituality, neuroscience, and more, I have come to understand that even though we all live in the same world, our experiences and perception of the world are quite different.

The truth is that our experiences are filtered through the lenses of our senses, beliefs, emotional programming, and societal conditioning. However, the good news is that by understanding how our consciousness and mind works, we have the ability to correct our thinking patterns and change our beliefs to resolve the past, and in turn, transform our lives to create a more fulfilling and harmonious future.

Levels of Mind

Sigmund Freud, an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis, introduced an Iceberg model that helps to illustrate what religious scriptures and Buddhist philosophy have been discussing for thousands of years. Freud used the analogy of an iceberg to show how mind works and how it can be divided into three levels — the conscious, the subconscious, and the unconscious.

The conscious level is the surface part of the mind that is aware of the small amount of mental activity that includes immediate surroundings and current thoughts, perceptions, and experiences.

The subconscious level consists of information that is just below the surface of conscious awareness but can be brought to the conscious level with some effort.

The unconscious level, on the other hand, consists of thoughts, feelings, and memories that are hidden and inaccessible to conscious awareness.

According to Freud, the subconscious along with the unconscious mind is the most powerful and influential part of the mind, because it is constantly working in the background, and responsible for shaping our conscious experiences.

5 Tips to make the Unconscious Conscious

If you truly want to transform yourself and create a more fulfilling life, then you must learn to live your life consciously. This means living with awareness and intention, as opposed to living on autopilot.

Many people go through life on autopilot, letting their subconscious mind control their actions and emotions. This lack of awareness can lead to state of feeling powerless and trapped in our circumstances. By living consciously, you can tap into your creative power to take control and create a more fulfilling life.

Here are some tips that led me on my journey of self-transformation and can help you on your own path:

1. Take Ownership of your Life

Remember that you are in control of your own life and happiness. Don’t give others the power to make you unhappy or blame them for your problems. Take full responsibility for your thoughts and emotions, and consciously choose how to respond to challenges. Learn how to master and own your emotions and thoughts. Don’t allow other people do the thinking for you!

2. Practice being Mindful

Being mindful means paying conscious attention to your thought patterns and beliefs. As you become more mindful, you will see how one thought leads to another, leading you down an unhealthy path. Once you’ve identified these patterns, you can recognize how negative thinking and beliefs are holding you back from living your best life. Remember that you have the power to change the direction of your thoughts, let go of the negative ones, and replace them with positive and empowering ones.

3. Practice Honest Self Inquiry

Have you ever felt like you’re living a double life — one for the public eye and one for yourself? It’s not uncommon for us to hide our true feelings and fears behind a mask of social acceptability. But what if we took off that mask and got real with ourselves through self-inquiry?

Self-inquiry is like having a 100% honest conversation with the most important person in your life — yourself. By asking deeper questions such as, “Why do I think the way I do?”, “What if my beliefs are just stories I made up?”, “What are my real intentions?”, “What outcome do I seek from this situation?”, or “What am I afraid of?”, we can uncover our true inner motives and gain a fresh perspective on our lives. This practice is so powerful that you will find answers to almost everything you seek.

4. Embrace your Shadows

As you begin to dive into the practice of mindfulness, self-inquiry, and meditation, you will uncover deep, hidden parts of yourself that you may not have been aware of before, or that you may have suppressed in the past. As you become more conscious of these dark thoughts and feelings, cultivate a habit to see them without judgment.

Shadow work involves recognizing, acknowledging, and embracing our darker emotions, thoughts, and behaviors such as fear, anger, jealousy, shame, and guilt. By becoming aware of our shadow side, we gain the power to transform these emotions through self-love and compassion.

5. Cultivate a Learner’s Mindset

In the age of information, ignorance is a choice!! Stay curious, be open to new ideas, and gain new knowledge through books and online research. Explore different teachers and their teachings to see who resonates with you. Remember that the goal is not only to learn but also to apply the knowledge gained in your life. Don’t believe everything you hear/ read in news or social media. Try to look at things from different perspectives. Question everything and experiment with ideas to test their validity and then come to your own conclusions.

5 Tips to make the Reprogram the Subconscious

Once we become aware of our unconscious patterns, we can see how they dictate our repetitive behaviors and how we respond to situations that may not serve our best interests. It is essential to overcome our self-sabotaging patterns that hold us back from living our best lives. Here are some tips on how to take control and reprogram our minds —

1. Learn to Meditate

Meditation has allowed me to access deeper levels of the mind. Through meditation, I learned to calm and relax my conscious mind, which allowed the subconscious mind to come forward. In a state of deep relaxation and inner stillness, the mind becomes more open and receptive to new ideas, beliefs, and thoughts. I used these deeper levels of mind to change my limiting mindsets and plant the seeds of the life that I wanted to create for myself.

2. Choose Love over Fear

Choosing love over fear is a concept that extends beyond romantic love. It means living and making every choice in your life from a place of love, harmony, and for the highest good of all. It takes courage to consistently choose love, especially when environment or people around you are challenging. Don’t let fear or ego dictate how you respond in the world. Rise higher and choose love! By choosing love, you will be connected with the prosperity of the Universe.

3. Be Kind to Yourself

Often in our lives, we seek love, acceptance, and validation from others. As children, we seek approval from our parents, and later from our spouses, friends, or family members. But remember, it’s your job to provide yourself with the love and respect you seek from others. Value yourself, take care of yourself, be patient with yourself, and make your inner peace a top priority. Don’t feel guilty for loving yourself first or putting your needs above anyone else’s. The truth is, you cannot pour from an empty cup. Like the airplane analogy, put your mask on first before helping others.

4. Focus on Gratitude

Gratitude is truly a state of mind. In my experience I have seen that the Universe provides more abundantly when we are thankful for what we already have. Personally, I keep a gratitude journal where, before sleeping, I give thanks for the simple things in life. Cultivating a gratitude practice is a powerful way to rewire your brain for positive thinking, and research has shown us that practicing gratitude is actually good for heart health, happiness, and cultivates the feeling of satisfaction, and overall well-being.

5. Biohacks

There are tons of free resources available on YouTube to reprogram your mind. I also often use biohacks like subliminals, binaurals, guided meditations, and self-hypnosis videos to boost my mind. These resources work only if you trust the process and give it time to work.

Subliminals are sounds/visuals that are placed at a frequency that you cannot hear consciously. Your unconscious mind, however, is able to pick up the message and slowly change whatever it is about you to what the message says. Subliminals work best when you are asleep, that’s when your conscious mind isn’t at work so your unconscious mind is active.

Binaurals are auditory illusions created by the brain when you listen to two tones with slightly different frequencies at the same time. It is important to use headphones to get the full effect with Binaural beats.

Self Hypnosis is like putting your self in a deeply relaxed state and to give your mind simple suggestions to affirm the things you want to manifest. Self-hypnosis is much like meditation but with intense focus on positive present tense affirmations.

Identify your goals and set an intention. Like what do you want to achieve? It could be anything from reducing stress and anxiety to improving focus and productivity. Find a video on Youtube that resonates the best with your goal and play the music. You can listen to these while you work, relax, or even sleep.

Change Your Perception to Change Your Reality

The moral of the story is that any unresolved issues in our energy fields will keep manifesting in our lives until we commit to taking necessary steps to become conscious of them and heal them. As we start healing ourselves from within, we will observe a positive shift in terms of love, peace, and harmony in our external environment, relationships, and overall life.
